I have the TA CD's somewhere, but could not find. So, for very little money I just bought the 'GoodOldGames' TA download and installed. The version is 3.1.
I tried to install the 3.1c patch, but it would not run.
Help

Followed the directions .... When I attempted to install the second one (the 3902 patch), an error message came up, "some prerequisites still missing..."
If I can't install TA, in a few days I'll get the new game 'Halo Wars 2'. I'd rather play TA.

After reading several pre-release reviews of Halo Wars 2, I think I'll hold off on that.
I picked up Steam's TA, and I'm still not able to get this running. It rather reminds me of installing/playing Grand Prix Legends (GPL) back in the day with all the modifications.

I get the resources patch installed, then try the 3.9.02... That's when I get the error "Some pre-requisites are still missing", and, "Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable failed"

Thanks.
TA runs better now, but the opening screen still says version 3.1. Isn't it supposed to say '3.9.02' ?
And if it's alright to show the 3.1 as the version, then what is the most commonly run TA mod now in terms of stability and wide usage?

Found the Escalation mod files... The directions for installing assume a 'GoodOldGames' TA install, rather than Steam TA. I have both but the Steam one I'm using now.
Will the Escalation mod run with either TA install?

TA runs as basic TA with the 3.1.
I then tried the patches with both (Steam & GoG) TA versions...same results... The resources patch gets installed, but the issue is when I try to get the 3902 patch to install. Message states I need to install the 'Visual C++ 2008 SP1 x64 redistributable'. When I DL that and try to install it...fails with error "...some prerequisites missing...".
I'm back to playing Battlefield 1 with my son.

Basic GoG TA running fine.
But when I try to install the TA Escalation mod, I get an error message, "...some prerequisites missing...the 'Visual C++ SP1 Redistributable' needs to be installed", I DL that and attempt to install it. I then get "install failed, some prerequisites are missing..."
HELP............... thanks.
EDIT......
Ok, I think this is what is FUBAR....
I just checked in "Control Panel/Installed Programs'.... is the following: *MS Visual C++ 2010(x64) Redistributable 10.0.40219 *MS Visual C++ 2010(x86) Redistributable 10.0.40219 *MS Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) 11.0.6103.0 *MS Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) 11.0.6103.0 *MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) 12.0.30501.0 *MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) 12.0.30501.0 *MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) 14.0.24210.0 *MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) 14.0.24210.0
What the heck........is this part of the issue, and anyone know for sure what I need to do?

I DL'd and thought I installed the x86 and x64 Visual C++ 2008 SP1 redistributables. I then re-booted and they were not listed in my 'installed progs' folder in Control Panel.
On my C drive, I have a Cavedog/TA folder with a list of files and another folder called 'TAMUS', also with files in it. And in my 'Program Files(x86)' folder there is a GoG.com/TA folder with many files there....
Just shoot me now...

I received error message, "Unable to process 'TAZero ND Tournament/2P DOM Total temple.ufo"

I used this guy's link. (https://yadi.sk/d/SoW-Ypgu33uJ5J). It seemed that Escalation got installed this time because I did not get the Visual C++ errors messages and there is a TA Escalation .exe on my desktop. But the game (Escalation mod) will not run, and I can't seem to get the last patch installed.
