I'm not sure what you try and achieve with these posts.

- Everyone else's opinion on who is the best shouldn't be this important to you.

- Most people don't play this game anymore and you won't trick them to coming back and playing you by saying you're the best because it's something they don't care about.

- Player bases of games die off over time, TA did well and had players for longer than most games. The players from when it came out have grown up, now have different responsibilities or less time to play, nobody quit because they were afraid of anyone. If your main aim in a game is the competitive aspect, you are best to look at other games.

I just saw my PMs that I'd missed today, had only checked this forum without logging in for a long time. I doubt I'll play TA again, last time I tried had issues getting it to work. Play mostly Dota 2, Overwatch and Rocket League with friends now.

Did not notice the PM's until today, I responded to one from 2014 I hadn't read also. I think wanting to be the best is a goal the majority of players will have, especially those near the top of the game in their respective periods, so I don't think that is news. If anything someone not wanting to be the best is what I'd find strange.

If you care for accuracy, I don't remember losing 8/10 to Jackson. I think I played him a few games (maybe 5 or 6?) in a period after the time I was active on the 2013 ladder, I got beaten quite easily I think, I was rusty at the time and the games were not very close if I recall correctly, maybe I won 1 or 2 but not sure. What sticks in the memory is we played 2 games on GoW2 where he crushed me, I found his play impressive on that map in particular.

No, of course not. If people - who were 13-16 yo in 2004 - quit TA, it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they got older, moved on, eventually got married, had kids etc. It's only because they are a bunch of hiders.
