Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me. Me and my flatmate recently reinstalled TA for old times sake to play some network games, hes on vista im on xp. all ports are forwarded etc, not that I think that matters in lan. We use TA: mutation to get the multiplayer running. we get to the lobby fine, the game starts up fine. But once the game opens up neither of us have a commander and the game ends there. anyone know whats up?

one of you is modded. if both are modded, then you have different versions of a mod, or completely different mods.

Having different mods or a mod and someone with no mod will cause unit conflicts. You can look at the build restrictions to determine conflicts because the units are greyed out. If that unit is a commander, this will result in the commander having a conflict and POOF! No commander. GG There are a couple of ways to fix this Problem. 1) Uninstall the game and delete the old totala folder BEFORE re-installing to get rid of the mod junk files. 2) Rename the mod folder to something like "Totala2" and just reinstall a clean copy of the original game. The second option will allow you to play your mod but also play other people in regular TA. You also might just get the other person to use the same exact mods you are. There is a lot of info on modding @ www.tauniverse.com/forum/

TA Mutator is your problem. Both re-install without it.
