I had a feeling that for some reason the game wouldn't transfer over, even though RVD's test worked, my review did not. I'm still confused so it still needs fixing. But since I put all of the time into the review of the game here it is.
I know the game isn't with it, so you'll just have to imagine it for now.
Tournament Round 2
Behemot vs. DatsiK
Crystal Heart
Game Rating: 5
So you've probably realized by now that there was a tournament fairly recently. That means we've got fresh competitive games here at TADRS for your viewing pleasure. Most of you are already aware of the outcome of the tournament, so unless the game looks close I won't bother hiding the outcome in this review.
I decided to save the finals for later reviews, and instead offer some answers to some questions that some people are asking. Well maybe not answers, but perhaps some material by which you can arrive at these answers.
The unspoken question being, naturally, who is this DatsiK person, and how on earth did he end up in the final round? This doesn't answer the first question, but this will help answer the second. In the second round DatsiK had to ge through the relatively solid Behemot, a tempermental TA player who's ability to play the game exceeds his general comprehension of the english language. Although in more recent years it seems he has been getting better at both. Lets just say after I saw that he had defeated Pyromathic in the first round, I figured he was a shoe-in for the semi finals from his quarter of the brackets. (mostly because I don't have much experience with the other players.)
I'll make two assumptions about DatsiK and I'll stick to them unless told otherwise:
1. DatsiK is male, and I will refer to him by the masculine pronouns.
2. DatsiK is a smurf, and not a new upstart to the scene.
So with all of that in mind, lets get to the meat of this game.
Datsik starts air, but reclaims it quickly to vehicle, and then he jumps in the water faster than Totya. By the time Totya's bombers appear to be having some kind of an effect, DatsiK already has the underwater metal extractors capped, and is quickly taking advantage of the metal. The difference is fairly large when you hit the .total command by midgame.
I know this has happened to me in many tournaments, but there was a time when Totya was looking at his islands, being completely overrun, the last few of his units valiantly shooting, and probably thinking: "This is it, I've lost, I'm out of the tournament. How did this happen?"
Behemot is soundly defeated by DatsiK in this round on Crystal Heart. Behemot had some fancy bombing, and some decent ideas, but he was outclassed in this
