Lol... wow long time. Seeing this post actually made me create an account here. With the name krono, I had a few random alias's back in the day. Was apart of the Mo_ clan on TEN as Mo_Deaths (OCW 10k/10k 15min BT anyone?) lol.. HTK, and finished up with ACE. Last night I was talking to one of my friends.. and realized that I still have TA saved on many hardrives so I loaded it up. Its funny seeing Seven Islands load up in 1 sec on a SSD.... Wouldnt have thought that 14-15 years ago when I began with this crazy game. Clans I remember that were quite solid, and seemed to steam roll everyone.. List consists of TEN and Boneyards based clans since I really didnt play many other places Gnugs - amazing players all around, never knew who all of them were in the end sadly. D_Old_Man, Ionosphere, HiRoller and some others im sure lol TAG - Never really sloped at all. Believe them or BTU were the best when I quit playing. Rock I remembered as being an outstanding player whom I was afraid to play 1v1. We did 3 games I think in a tourney where he won 2, and I won 1. HTK - who can remember Newsmonger Neo lol, and surprisingly their outdated webpage is still up. For a trip down memory lane, check this out www.angelfire.com/on/htks/ where the last update was in 2000. ACE - Great group of people and I still keep in contact with Getgo to this day. Cytree, Erindel, Bzero, Xavier and others. An overall fun group to play with. BTU - Along with Tag, seemed to have the most talent. Cannuck, BF, and I think umm Snoop yes? Damn my memory is foggy but the players in there were fantastic. So I guess my list is more of a top 5 during my time of playing and the crowd I played with. Now almost 30... this is a major trip down memory lane. My high school evenings/early mornings were filled with TA on a dialup playing with these guys. /salute to all of you. A few things. I was searching to see if there was anywhere to get a game now a days. I find myself wanting to play TA for some reason. Someone already has the Cytree account (who knows why they would make that account). Someone already has the Zerbit account (who knows why they would make that account). I miss playing this game. I miss Snoopy. I even miss Canuck and Jag. TA had a great community, right from the very beginning on Ten when we used the C&C lobby to set up IP games, through Ten and Mplayer, through the Zone and Boneyards right to the very end. Best time i had gaming in my life. Best clans in my opinion from were the long lived ones. The Duggans had a brief stint after recruiting a few greats, ditto for countless other short lived clans. If i had to make a list, from my admittedly foggy memory of best clans. SY Kings BTU Tag Gnugs Ace NEO As for Venom's debate, he may have been the best when there were a handful of people playing this game. But there were true greats when the ranks of players were in the tens of thousands. I would take one of those over Venom any day. Snoopy Rock SJ Pic Cviper Hawk3 Butcher 315 215 Novice BF Those are guys i saw as great. Others were shining as i stopped playing, guys like Vapour and Git and Dominator, but i didn't play much with them. Anyway, thanks for the read down memory lane.

Thats funny Krono, that was the main reason I ended up creating an account, the nostalgia pours out, and it even has motivated me enough to play a little TA now. The only thing that is lacking, that was lacking years ago, is more people playing. RVD was telling me that if all the people that came back from their hiatus from the game, and stuck around for a while, we'd see a lot of people actually playing the game again. Maybe theres some sort of group effort that can be gathered to make something like that happen. I would love to see GPG take this title and just completely copy it into a new engine to replicate the gameplay, but improve graphics and textures.. can you imagine a Supreme Commander with all the rules and physics of OTA/CC/BT? That would be great...
I actually started out playing TA on TEN too, and I remember seeing you as Krono_1, and I always remember how respected by everyone you were because there were so many people that didn't know how to play the game back then and you were known to be good. I think my first username i ever used was Veteran24 back then.

RE Shollos,
They did take the game, port it to a new engine and improve it... It's called 'TA Spring' and is a free open source project that works under windows, linux and mac os...
Its a fully 3-D Engine, deformable landscapes and the ability to drive the units in FP mode if you fancy some eye candy. Also doesn't require too much hardware to run as engine is very scalable.
I'm surprised people in the TA community don't all know about this now, although I think the spring dev's have been keeping things a bit quiet as there is a question over copyright issues relating to the original TA content...
Anyway, if you fancy playing an updated version of TA download the game- there's a decent community, usually between 100 and 200 players every night.
