Alright, figured I'd start a new thread on this.
On times, the tournament WILL START Saturday 13th February 12 Noon GMT. That's when I will close entries and have the brackets finalised. I will set a deadline for the games to be played depending on the entries.
To ensure smooth running of the compoetition could you all leave your e-mail addresses here so that players may contact each other to arrange a time to play their games, please allow at least 2 hours to play your games, especially if one picks a particularly lengthy map.
Rules:
Explicit to this tourney:
Players must disable TA recorder functions via .ehaoff. This will not however disable the demo's recording so TADS can still be sent in for review/resolving of disputes.
OTA & CC Maps - Map list to follow (slightly cut down)
Original Cavedog Units (...)
No cmdwarp except on PD
Map Selection: ALL rounds excluding the Finals will be a best of 3 matches. 1 Map must be chosen from the map list by each player. If the score is still tied then both players will play on the assigned tiebreak map (later). No player may select the SAME map TWICE throughout the ENTIRE tournament duration UNTIL the finals where the slate is wiped clean and itself will be a best of 5 in a similar format.
A normal (1500) unit limit will be acceptable, reducing to say 500 would unlikely make an appreciable impact on games anyway.
Gameplay Rules:
Standard tourney rules will apply, the most influential ones will be mentioned here:
All games (except in the case of PD with watchers) will be played from original starting positions without cmdwarp.
Commrushing:
Any player may attack another commander with any unit at any time. During the first 10 minutes of the game no player may commander rush another players starting base. However, any base outside the players starting area may be commander rushed at any time. After the 10 minute mark anything goes.
In the case of double comm explosions the following rules apply:
Dgunning other players commander = LOSS
Comm bombing = LOSS
On the other hand...
Lazering a commander to death = WIN
Attacking their commander by other means (e.g. mts & nuke) causing them to die = WIN
Disconnections: Typically will eb left to the discretion of the players, but generally if occuring within first 5 mins and almost nil ahs occurred (i.e. being bombed etc) then the game may be replayed. Otherwise if there are any disputes, send the TAD to me and I will review it.
Use of TA Bugs:
USe of sparking, offscreen, pels etc are permitted, however multireclaiming, reclaiming of reappearing rocks (Evade River) and floating units are prohibited.
